History

1995

SIA Dosimetrs was founded on October 18, 1995.

1996

Since 1996, DOZIMETRS has successfully cooperated with Thermo Fisher Scientific, which is the most important partner in the integration of radiation protection and measuring equipment systems and in the development of new products. As a result of cooperation, in 1997, the first radiation monitoring gates for road transport were installed in Grenztal, on the Lithuanian border. In 2005, DOZIMETRS implemented a large-scale project aimed at meeting the requirements of Schengen zone countries by installing Thermo Fisher Scientific radiation monitoring equipment on the Eastern border. In 2007, the US Department of Energy selected the services of DOZIMETRS in the Second Line of Defense (SLD) program, where the company’s specialists provide equipment installation, as well as technical maintenance, and act as a technical consultant in the mentioned program. The SLD system includes a network of more than 40 radiation control monitors at border crossing points, including Riga Airport and Seaports in Riga, Liepāja and Ventspils.

2014

In April 2014, SIA DOZIMETRS, together with NUVIA, installed a new radiation monitoring early warning system, according to the results of the procurement tender. As part of the project, 22 gamma monitoring stations were installed, including for measuring water in the Daugava, as well as an aerosol radiation monitoring device that measures the concentration of radionuclides in the air.

2017

In 2017, equipment installation is being carried out within the framework of the Ignalina NPP demolition project.

2019

In 2019, DOZIMETRS developed the DoziWood measuring system for the wood industry. The system provides identification of Cs-137 contaminated wood chips using the Thermo Fisher Scientific ® Safety-Guard Series II radiation detector system. The use of the system allows companies to control compliance with regulatory requirements at different levels of use of ash-containing Cs-137 isotopes (1 Bq/g; 10 Bq/g).

2022

Currently, DOZIMETRS implements projects in cooperation with such companies as PNLL (USA), Latvian Border Guard, Radiation Safety Center. Dosimeter’s customers are scrap metal processing companies, such as Tolmets, woodworking, waste processing companies, such as Getliņi EKO, medical and all other industries where issues related to radiation safety must be addressed.

DOZIMETRS works successfully in the field of software development for dosimetry. Equipment and software for active and passive dosimetry have been developed in cooperation with partner DosiBase and successfully exported to customers on different continents under the DosiBase brand.
